This also suffers from the lazy trope of having the same zombie models and items just being re used over and over and over again to the point where You're being hit with deja vue every few minutes. There's some things that look good such as water effects but then there's other things that look straight out of a PS3 game, fire and weather effects, character models all look dated and they do take a while to get used to as it makes this feel like more of an indy game than a full price AAA game. First off, the graphics, for a game that's taken over a decade to make and it being released on the next gen consoles, the graphics in this game are pretty weak. But there are some really glaring issues with it. I loved the first 2 Dead Island games (Part 1 and Riptide) I had a lot fun with them and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't doing the same with Dead Island 2.
